Hospitalist, Medical Director – Block Schedule – Post Acute Care
Essex Inpatient Physicians (EIP) has an opening for a full-time experienced Hospitalist at Whittier Rehab Bradford. This position is perfect for a physician interested in working autonomously and interested in taking on limited leadership responsibilities.
Whittier Rehab Bradford is a well-established IRF/LTAC on the MA North Shore. It is a vibrant 60-bed facility with inpatient IRF and LTAC care, as well as a co-located 20-bed TCU, thriving outpatient rehab clinic, as well as a home healthcare agency. It is part of Whittier Health Network, which provides high quality care across the inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facility, and home health continuum. The inpatient units are robustly supported by physiatry, as well as neurology, psychology, psychiatry, neuropsychology, pulmonology, critical care, podiatry, optometry, dentistry, high quality nursing, PT, OT, SLP, RT, and very helpful social and case management support. Whittier is Joint Commission Accredited and is specialty certified in its Pulmonary Program and Outpatient Stroke Program.
About the job:
• Responsible for the Internal Medicine specific clinical care and medical group administrative oversight for the 60-bed long-term acute care and inpatient rehabilitation units
• Training support provided for those new to administration, quality improvement projects, billing, clinical documentation, and the rules and regulations specific to LTAC and IRF sites of care
• 90% of time is clinical
About the schedule:
• Open to discussion
• Assumes 26 ‘clinical’ weeks per year
• Holiday rounding coverage shared equitably
About administrative duties:
• Necessary administrative meetings
• Act as group Medical Director, and internal medicine lead site provider
• NP/PA supervision (3 full-time and 4-5 part-time)
• Schedule supervisor
• Must be comfortable and confident working with an EMR
