Experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Part Time – 40 minutes north of Boston

Essex Inpatient Physicians (EIP) is a physician founded and managed health care organization providing acute care and post-acute care services to hospitals, specialty hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities in Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire, and Maine.  We are looking for a part-time, experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Haverhill, MA.
 
About the position
Schedule may vary week to week. This opportunity is 12 to 24 hours per week, providing medical consult care for adults in an inpatient psych hospital setting. All patients are ambulatory and level of medical complexity is low. Experienced medical team will teach and support new colleagues in this role. Psychiatry and site staff address all administrative and discharge processes.
 
The details

• Weekday work blocks may be 4 or 8 hours, and a minimum of 1 weekend per month for 4 hours per weekend day
• Possess strong clinical skills and demonstrate competency in providing comprehensive health care including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
• Flexibility and organizational skills to work autonomously

• 1+ years of experience required
• Valid license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in MA
• Valid DEA and Mass Controlled license
• Proven skills, knowledge base, and judgment necessary for independent clinical decision making
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to function effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Effective oral and written communication skills – notes are hand-written, short entries in SOAP note format
• Daily and weekly rounding schedules are flexible
• Potential for additional administrative and leadership duties such as creating/maintaining provider scheduling/coverage, meeting attendance, and supervisory tasks as interest and capacity demonstrate
